PISCATAWAY, NJ, July 23, 2024 — The Clinical Research Data Sharing Alliance (CRDSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of two new board members: Stephen Pyke of Parexel and Veronica Miller of the Forum for Collaborative Research.

“The success of CRDSA has been driven by the contributions of the member organizations and the active engagement of people like Stephen and Veronica,” said Board Chair Peter Mesenbrink. “We are thrilled to add their experience and perspective to the board.”

Stephen Pyke is the Chief Clinical Data & Digital Officer at Parexel, where he is responsible for leading and directing the design, operational execution, and development of all facets of Parexel’s clinical data strategy. Stephen trained as a statistician, and prior to joining Parexel held various senior leadership roles in major pharma companies over 25-plus years. Stephen has served on the boards of a number of professional and not-for-profit organizations, with roles including Board Chair of Statisticians in the Pharmaceutical Industry (PSI), Council Vice President for the Royal Statistical Society (RSS), Board Chair of the Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium (CDISC), and Chair of the Association of Clinical Research Organizations (ACRO) AI/ML Committee. Stephen joins the CRDSA board after two years as Chair of the CRDSA Steering Committee.

Veronica Miller, PhD, is Adjunct Professor at Berkeley Public Health and Director of the Forum for Collaborative Research, a collaboration between industry, regulatory agencies, patients, and public health/clinical researchers to advance regulatory science and accelerate drug development in areas of unmet medical need. Veronica is a leading expert in the process of engaging stakeholders from both sides of the Atlantic to resolve significant health policy and public health issues. She has published over 145 peer-reviewed publications on HIV treatment strategies and regulatory strategies for HIV and HCV throughout her career. She joined the Forum in 2001 after directing the interdisciplinary HIV Research Group at the HIV Outpatient Clinic of the JW Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany.

CRDSA would also like to thank Andrew Morris of Health Data Research UK, who has stepped down from his role as founding board member. Having served as director of Health Data Research UK since its founding in 2017 and as Professor of Medicine and Vice Principal of Data Science at the University of Edinburgh, Professor Morris has long been a leader in medical informatics and in medicine more broadly. CRDSA warmly congratulates Andrew on his new position as President of the UK’s Academy of Medical Sciences.

About CRDSA
Established in 2021, the Clinical Research Data Sharing Alliance (CRDSA) is a multi-stakeholder consortium that serves the clinical data sharing ecosystem. CRDSA seeks to maximize the value of patient-generated data by ensuring broad secondary research access to high-quality data at scale. It does so by creating a cooperative and inclusive forum that addresses common challenges, advocates for the value and use of shared data, and develops innovative data sharing approaches that will speed the discovery and delivery of lifesaving or life-changing new therapies to patients.
